The Best Eye Make Up Remover
Looking for the best eye make up remover to clean off that stubborn mascara and make up?
We’ve looked for a wide range of removers to help you decide.
When you’ve been wearing lots of make up – either every day, thicker for out in the evening or perhaps on stage for a dance performance it is important to use a good cleanser to remove all traces of makeup and impurities and leave your eyes and skin clean, clear and fresh.
The oily types can leave a residue on your skin that still needs cleaning off and the alcohol based cleaners are harsh and can cause sensitive skin to flare up.
Look for products that are oil and alcohol free. These are especially ideal for sensitive skin and contact lens wearers.
Cleaning your eyes and face of all your makeup will leave your skin soft and smooth, with less chances of break outs.
Lotions can be soothing and you can regulate how much you need depending on the thickness or stubbornness of your makeup. Wipes are small cotton pads, pre- soaked in an eye make up remover and kept in a moistproof bag or tub. These are ideal for when you’re on-the-go, travelling or going to a dance performance for cleaning your makeup off after you’ve performed.
How to Remove Mascara
The skin around the eye area is the most sensitive and needs extra care when cleaning, using only very gentle ingredients and even the cleaning motion needs to be gentle.
If using a lotion, pour a little lotion onto a clean cotton wall ball. Otherwise use a pre-soaked make up remover wipe.
Gently wipe across the eye in a sweeping motion rather than a rubbing motion. Keep repeating this motion on one eye at a time until you have removed all the makeup and mascara. As soon as it gets dirty, replace the pads with a clean one. You will need to use several pads or soaked cotton wall balls before the area is clean.
If the mascara is stubborn and not coming off, use a little more pressure just along the eyelash line, again in a sweeping motion, not rubbing away at one spot as that can damage the lashes.
