The outfit is made up of a gold satin skirt. Underneath, a white lacy blouse is worn, with the lace sleeves and collars showing.
An ornately embroidered maroon velvet jacket adorned with plenty of gold braid trimming, is worn over the top.

A double gold chain, made up of gold coins, is worn, along with matching earrings.

The hat is typical of that era of Greek fashions, a round box hat, with a tassel going over the side. The hat is folded over slightly on the right side and the tassle should fall on that side.

This costume was worn for a ballet national dance solo for local eisteddfods. We had some very traditional Greek music (not Zorba!), and created a dance based on Greek dance moves, taking into consideration the requirements for character and national dancing. It was a welcome change from the other traditional character national dances such as Flamenco and Hungarian.
