Makeup Styles Stage Make Up Ideas
See all the different makeup styles to finish off a dance performance, to complement a ballet or hip hop dance and costume.
We all love to see other dancer's makeup designs. There are some amazingly creative students and amateur makeup artists designing kids dance makeup. You can get ideas and be inspired by seeing the examples of make up of dancer's faces. Theater makeup has to be thicker and more exaggerated to open the eyes, highlight the face and expressions. A lot of emphasis needs to be put on the eyes. We have searched for photos and pictures of makeup examples so you can get some ideas for your next dance performance. We have pictures of darker skin kids as well as boys makeup. Accentuate the dancers best characteristics, large eyes, lovely smile, great shaped lips, don't hide it - flaunt it!

The makeup is the last piece to complete in the preparation of your dance performance. Once you have your dance choreographed, the music organised and your dance costume picked out, then you will think about how to do your hair and makeup. The make up needs to be a reflection of all these other elements. Express the character! Sometimes you can match the colors of the costume in your eyeshadow, with blues and greens. If you are doing a ballet and you have a light colored costume, then your makeup will need to have light colors too, but if your tutu or dress is dark, such as some of these examples above, then try bringing these colors into your makeup to complement it. For Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop and Character or Themed Dances, you have the opportunity to be a lot more dramatic. Use bright or strong colourful eye makeup and get creative. Take the eyeshadow out past the eye up to the eyebrows. Use eyeliner to accentuate the eyes and false eyelashes for older children if you wish. You can also use glitter to add sparkle on stage. Use strong blushers to accentuate the cheeks and bright or bold lipstick to make the mouth stand out.
